Finding a topic related to my work may be helpful for preparation for my dissertation and reuse in my workplace in the future. My work involves preserving digital artworks and archival records. It may be interesting to share my experience and tools used in the digital preservation field with my classmates. In the lesson, we learned to create memes as digital artifacts. Then it comes to my mind to preserve these digital artifacts posted on the Internet, by sharing the web archiving concept and developing it as a learning tool for museums and archives.
There are threats that the content on the websites will be gone, for example, deletion of content or even the web domains. Web archiving is the process of ensuring the continued accessibility of the website that involves finding ways to reassemble what was originally presented to future users by a combination of software tools. A similar program was found called the K-12 web archiving program run by the Library of Congress and the Internet Archive. I wanted to present the concept of web archiving through different existing sources online and develop an exercise on preserving online memes for senior secondary students to raise their awareness of preserving web content. Producing the screencast is challenging too! Searching journal articles to support my ideas, and develop my screencast content in answering all questions in the guided framework. Hopefully, my digital artifact will be born very soon!
