3D Human Anatomy Archive

Wing Yin Tang

My Choice of topic is a bit different than others, instead of analyzing the data from the project. I encountered a project about using 3D images to create an archive containing a 3D scanned organ and making a video with an annotation to highlight each part of the organ's name. This project aims to give students a way to study human anatomy outside the dissection labs during the Covid-19 period. The challenge of this archive is transforming the real organ into a 3D model and maintaining its realism so that the video will look as real as the scanned object. As those organs belonged to the donor and CUHK, when I created this archive, I was required to put a watermark for the images and use CUHK VPN to secure the video. Therefore, this archive is mainly for the CUHK student and staff to access. Overall this assignment gives me a chance to show how 3D scanning, the internet, and 3D technology can make a difference in students studying Human anatomy. Also, now I realize how difficult to do a voice recording with the screencast as I am not good at reading through a script.
